I love strolling through my shade garden. In the spring, there are surprises with new growth bursting out around every turn. In the summer, the shade offers relieve from the intense heat and in the fall, I review the excitement of the summer's growth and plan for the next year. I'm adventurously expectant even in winter as I analyze the structure of the garden and plan for the coming season.

Romans 8:15-16 in the Message says, "This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant greeting God with a child-like "What's next, Papa?"

Perhaps it's time to stroll through your spiritual garden. I do that often. Are you digging in your heels resisting change or are you eagerly asking "What's next, Papa?"
